The SVAN 979 is a Class 1 APPROVED sound level meter and analyzer with superior technical specifications. Its measuring range already starts at 12 dBA! SVAN-979 is a device that combines all the necessary measurement functions in one hand-held device.

The instrument is designed for acoustic engineering applications such as sound insulation measurements, and precise frequency or signal tonality analysis. This sophisticated tool comes standard with frequency analysis in 1/1 and 1/3 octave bands, FFT analysis, and audio recording for noise source identification. The basic kit also includes the building acoustics package: measuring functions and signaling device RT 60.

New generation sound level meters

The SVAN 979, SV 973 Class 2 and SV 971A Class 1 sound level meters are new-generation models that comply with the IEC 61672 standard. They have a reduced size and weight and better application compatibility through mobile applications, which is their main peculiarity.

IEC 61672 specifies the acoustical performance requirements for sound level meters in the audible range. In line with IEC 61672, sound level meters should have pattern approval from an independent testing agency, and their performance class should be confirmed in routine tests.
