Met One’s PARTAC Tactical Particulate Profiler (P/N 102686) is a tough and adaptable device that may be utilised for a variety of tasks. It functions as an NBC agent alarm trigger, a public and workplace ambient monitor, and a ground-truth reference for confirming standoff particulate detectors. The PARTAC can monitor particle counts in up to 8 user-selectable channels at the same time, delivering real-time data.
The PARTAC’s customizable features allow it to identify particulate sizes linked with harmful NBC chemicals, generating alarms and activating additional samplers and sensors. Because of its small size, low power consumption, and continuous duty capabilities, it is ideal for continuous monitoring in a variety of situations.
The PARTAC, as an ambient monitor, delivers real-time particle count information in public areas or workplaces. Its low-noise functioning allows it to be placed in work areas without disturbing employees. Furthermore, the PARTAC can monitor background levels prior to the start of work, providing vital data for environmental evaluation.
A laser diode and a pump with a mass flow control mechanism are used in the PARTAC. The laser illuminates particles brought into the instrument, and the dispersed light is collected and focussed onto a photodetector. Modern electronics transform the signal strength into particle size values for each identified particle. With a high sample rate of up to once per second, the counts are then classified into size ranges set by the user before to installation.
