Elcometer BG80 Bolt Tension Monitor

When nuts and bolts are fastened together under load the action of tightening the nut increases the force applied to the bolt causing elongation. The Elcometer BG80 Bolt Tension Monitor accurately measures this elongation allowing the bolt gauges to accurately measure time (nanoseconds), elongation, load, stress, and %strain of the bolt.

Using ultrasound, bolt tension monitors are unaffected by temperature, friction, or resistance factors that affect the accuracy of standard torque measurement techniques – giving the BG80 series bolt gauges an accuracy of 0.0001 mm (0.00001 in). Also, this product uses the gauge’s RS232 interface along with the optional shutdown accessory, the screw gauge can be programmed to automatically stop the tightening process when the appropriate load is applied.

The gauge can be programmed to automatically stop tightening after the proper load has been applied using the USB interface and the optional shut-off accessories.
