Drager X-am 8000 Powerful Gas Detector

The Drager X-am® 8000 is a versatile and powerful multi-gas detector designed for detecting up to seven gases simultaneously. This device is widely used in various industries, including confined space, industrial hygiene, and hazmat response. In this article, we will discuss the key features, applications, and benefits of the Dager X-am 8000.

Key Features

Sensor Configuration

The Drager X-am 8000 can house up to five sensors, including LEL, IR LEL, CO2, VOC (PID), O2, CO, H2S, NO, NO2, SO2, PH3, HCN, CL2, and H2, among others. This wide range of sensors allows the device to detect toxic and flammable gases, oxygen, and volatile organic compounds.

Powerful Pump

The Drager  X-am 8000 is equipped with a powerful pump that can be connected to hoses up to 45 meters in length. A pump adapter allows for easy switching between diffusion and pump mode, saving energy, reducing wear and tear, and extending the pump’s lifespan.

Inductive Charging

The Drager  X-am 8000 features inductive charging, which makes it easier to operate and increases the device’s lifespan by eliminating issues like corrosion and contact problems.

User-friendly Interface

The Drager X-am 8000 offers intuitive one-handed operation with three function keys and an easy-to-read color display. The device also features advanced software functions, including the ability to change measurement gas for PID, CatEx, and IR sensors during operation.

Applications

Confined Space Monitoring

The Drager  X-am 8000 can be placed in either pump or diffusion mode, making it suitable for confined space applications. The powerful pump allows for gas sampling from remote locations, while the diffusion mode enables continuous monitoring without the need for a pump.

Leak Detection and Clearance Measurements

The Drager  X-am 8000 can be used for benzene-specific measurements using a pre-tube and provides assistance for clearance measurements and leak detection. The CSE Connect app, designed specifically for the X-am 8000, allows for efficient management of measuring tasks during clearance measurements.

Industrial Hygiene and Hazmat Response

The wide range of sensors and the ability to detect multiple gases simultaneously make the Drager  X-am 8000 an ideal choice for industrial hygiene and hazmat response applications.

Benefits

Clear Signaling Design

The X-am 8000 features a clear signaling design with a color-coded system in accordance with the requirements of EN 60079-29-1, EN 45544-1, and EN 50104. In case of an alarm, the device alerts users with colorful warning LEDs, a loud horn (100 dB(A) at a distance of 30 cm), and clearly palpable vibration.

Rugged Design

The device is designed for use in extreme industrial environments, with rubber protection for increased safety in case of shocks or vibrations. It is also water and dustproof, with an IP 67 certification, allowing it to remain operational even after falling into water.

Bluetooth Connectivity

An optional Bluetooth module in the X-am 8000 can automatically transfer measured values to the CSE Connect app, allowing for easy creation of measurement reports and efficient management of measuring tasks.
